Blanche Sheinkopf has been named National Education Director of Partners GREEN, a national non-profit organization that brings together educators, students, energy and environmental industry members, education organizations, and others to champion environmental stewardship and energy literacy. An educator, curriculum writer, and former National Coordinator of the U.S. Department of Energy's EnergySmart Schools program, she is responsible for all education activities of Project EverGREEN Schools (PES), the organization's education initiative that provides training programs, classroom resources, technical workshops, and other education resources. The goal is to be the "go-to" resource to help provide healthy, high-performance learning environments for our nation's students while creating a culture of responsible change in the design, construction, retrofitting, operation and maintenance of America's schools.
As a national gateway for information and resources, PES establishes public/private partnerships to collect and provide materials, activities, and web links for all learning environments, including public, private, independent, parochial, charter, home-schooled, and informal learning classes in grades K-12 as well as community colleges and colleges and universities. PES impacts all audiences involved in energy education and school facilities by serving as the central clearinghouse for information from environmental, energy, and climate education providers; federal, regional, state, and local agencies and organizations; teachers; curriculum writers, and others working with schools. It provides an easy-to-access forum for the exchange of ideas, information, case studies, and networking opportunities in an unbiased collaboration with education, industry, government, and others.
